2009 Scholarship Recipients

SEIU Local 503 awarded 48 scholarships and awards totaling $30,000 to members and members’ immediate family members this year through a member scholarship program.

Financial aid awards of $500 per school year are offered to students entering an accredited institution of learning in the United States. Grant in aid awards of $750 per school year are given to students who are currently enrolled. Winners must be undergraduates and must be under the age of 25 at the time of their nomination.

SEIU Local 503 awards two memorial scholarships of $750 each honoring Jessie Bostelle and Tony Lowery. The scholarships are available to SEIU members and their spouses, qualifying domestic partners, sons, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters.
SEIU Local 503 members are the workers Oregonians rely on for protection for our families, clean parks, safe roads, health care for seniors and people with disabilities, and to keep our universities running.
